Responsible Gaming & Support
Back to NSZN TerminalUS-focused awareness and help resources
NSZN is an informational and discussion platform. We do not accept or settle bets, but we recognize that sports betting and gambling can create real financial and personal risk. If you choose to bet, you should do so responsibly and within your limits.
If you or someone you know may have a gambling problem, please consider reaching out to professional resources. The organizations below operate independently from NSZN and may be able to provide support, information, or referrals.
1. National Resources (United States)
- National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) – Confidential help and resources.
Website: ncpgambling.org - 1-800-GAMBLER – 24/7 confidential helpline in many US states.
Phone: 1-800-426-2537 (1-800-GAMBLER)
Website: 1800gambler.net - SAMHSA National Helpline – For mental health and substance use issues, including gambling as part of a broader treatment context.
Phone: 1-800-662-HELP (4357)
Website: samhsa.gov/find-help/national-helpline
2. State & Local Programs
Many US states operate their own problem gambling councils or helplines. Check your state lottery or gaming commission website, or refer to NCPG for a directory of state-level resources.
3. Self-Exclusion & Limits
If you are betting with licensed sportsbooks, many operators provide tools to set deposit limits, time limits, or to self-exclude. Consider using these tools if you feel your gambling is becoming difficult to control.
4. Immediate Risk
If you or someone you know is in immediate danger of self-harm or harming others, please contact your local emergency services right away or dial 988 in the United States for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
